Spring time Friday Blog

Feels great the Sun is shining where getting some April showers to bring them pretty May flowers. & Best of all it’s FRIDAY! Welcome to Baby Yums guest blog for Fabulous Fridays! Speaking of Friday it brings us into the weekend. Most families take the time during their hectic week to plan & play with the family during the weekend. What do you do with your family and how do you have fun? Last weekend my husband and I took the kids to the Sugar Bush. Felt great to get out and enjoy the weather, slowly seeing things “spring” back to live. Everyone coming out of hiding, kids laughing, sparkle in everyone’s eyes, birds singing and the Maple Syrup ohh so yummy! I asked a few people what their favourite activities with the family and here is a list that I got. Outdoors: walking/hiking/road trip/market/farm/ Indoors: crafts/reading/dancing/singing/playing/movie(s)/shopping/ Activities: events/concerts/eating out/visiting people/museums/ Here are my top personal 3 for each: Outdoors: We love drawing on the driveway with chalk with the boys so much fun Indoors: We love crafts get messy and enjoy the magical creativity Activities: We love to visit Family & Friends Please feel free to add a comment and let us know what you and your family enjoy doing add your own personal touch. We all have our favourites would love to hear what you and your family do to. A few blogs back I posted a recipe for a great spaghetti sauce that the whole family can enjoy. This week I’ve decided to focus on a recipe geared towards babies for beginners 6+ here is the recipe I’d like to share with you. *please make sure your baby has tired peas first & pears first before mixing them together just in case of any allergies.* Featured recipe this week is: Peas & Pears 2 cups frozen green peas 1 or 2 small ripe pears (peeled, cored and chopped) Directions: Place frozen peas pot of water cover and bring to a boil. Boil peas for 4 min Add chopped pear and cook another 2 minutes on HIGH. Puree to your babies choice for consistency Great for freezing Now that Spring is finally here what better way to enjoy the sunshine in your kitchen along side a great kitchen craft with your little ones with the window open and a little fun children’s music playing. I usually do fun crafts with my 2.5 year old when my 14month old is sleeping in the afternoon. This is when I take advantage of one on one time with my oldest who loves crafts! So my craft pick this week is: Animals out of plastic coloured Easter eggs. Here is the link that I found all the great info on how to make this craft followed by great photos: http://www.jollymom.com/2010/03/easter-craft-idea-turn-plastic-easter.html If you do this craft please feel free to post your photos on our fan page: http://www.facebook.com/babyyums I will post ours once it’s done!
